tutorial: how to make your own cursor :)

this one is really highly requested >< i really have a hard time explaining through ask. so i made this really simple tutorial ;) i hope you guys get it. <3 (needs knowledge in working around PS. i will not help you with basics ><) click read more to view full tutorial~

1. Open your Adobe Photoshop. (i’m using CS5) and create a new file. (width:100px or any you want; height: 8px)

2. Zoom your image till it can’t be zoomed anymore and moved to the leftmost side.

3. Choose the marquee tool. And select pixels (1x1) to form an arrow. Simply Select, then use the paint bucket tool to fill. (Marquee tool shortcut: M. Paintbucket tool shortcut: G)

4. Select the text tool (shortcut key: T). and choose your pixel font. (recommend: Redensek) the size should be 12px or you decide what fits. And make sure the anti-alias(is that what you call) is set to None.

5. Type your text (Circled box here should be set to NONE) and adjust accordingly.

6. If your letter is being cut like mine, press ctrl + C to change the canvas size. simply click the direction arrow up and set the height to 10px or until fit.

7. This is what it would look like zoomed out. You can save it or proceed to change its color.

8.So just select the text and click the color thingy up there and pick your desired color.

I changed the size of the arrow by deleting some few pixels to make it look thinner:

9. When you are happy with your result, press ctrl + S to save. Type your file name and from the format, choose CompuServe GIF (GIF) and press Save.

Just keep on pressing OK.

10. Upload/host your file. I would recommend tinypic.com or here. Just open your file and click upload. Copy the url of your file. and paste it in the “URL HERE” of the following code: (make sure to change the quotation marks with new quotation marks)

<style type=”text/css”>

body, a, a:hover {cursor:url(‘URL HERE’);}

</style>

this is my result:
